Jada Hudson (M.S., LCPC, CADC), is a licensed clinical counselor and owner of Hudson Clinical Counseling. She has helped individuals heal, grow and live for more than 20 years.

 

Jada counsels many populations of individuals like first responders, who have experienced occupational stress and trauma, as well as women, children, and adolescents struggling to manage life’s transitions or emotional challenges. Jada employs client-centered therapy, which means clients take an active role in employing strategies for healing. She creates a safe, non-judgmental, and open experience to guide clients to resolution or adaptation to their life challenges.

 

Firefighter and First Responder Counselor for DeKalb

Jada recently received specialized training to counsel firefighters, police, dispatch, and other law enforcement officers. The Illinois Fire Chief’s Educational and Research Foundation provided a grant to establish the rigorous curriculum, which involves a combination of classroom, supervised counseling and ride-along time with active duty firefighters. She has also worked at an inpatient program for treatment of substance abuse for first responders.  Jada is dedicated to counseling this specialized group of first responders. Jada was invited to join the advisory committee for the Illinois Fire Service Institute in Champaign, IL.  Jada has also been published in Fire Engineering Magazine and Fire Rescue Magazine. Recently, she was invited to be the Keynote Speaker at The National Fire Academy. 

 

Jada received her certification as a Recovery Coach from Governor’s State University through the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse. She earned her CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) from the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association, Inc. 

Children and Adolescent Counselor in DeKalb

Throughout Jada’s career as a DeKalb counselor, she has helped children and adolescents face their emotional challenges and life transitions in order to heal, grow, and live. As a high school and college counselor for 15 years, she gained insight and experience in general counseling, as well as personality assessment and academic and career counseling. She also has experience in pediatric oncology and domestic abuse counseling.

Between motherhood, career, and caring for family, women experience many transitions that can be emotionally unsettling or even traumatic. Jada enjoys working with women to manage these life changes to heal, grow, and live.
